Data Integration

Data integration brings together information from multiple sources to help provide a better picture of people, places, businesses or life events.

For example, combining Health Survey results with Census data lets us see the relationship between things like people’s health and if they are studying and able to get a job when they finish. This information helps in planning for the future and getting the services people need.

The key discussion topics for the workshops on data integration are:

  • Data integration explained, keeping the data safe, ethics and accessibility of integrated data
  • Identifying useful datasets for integration and filling the gaps and, potential research topics using integrated data
  • Integrating the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Survey (NATSIHS)
